9-14-05 George Bush has suspended 1931 Davis-Bacon Act |
|
It the wake of the Hurricane Katrina disaster, George Bush has suspended 1931 Davis-Bacon Act. Davis-Bacon guarantees workers and laborers, who rebuild after a natural disaster, a prevailing wage; this has been suspended for the Hurricane Katrina relief. Although no-bid contracts were given to large campaign contributors and political friends of the Bush Administration, the “common man” … will be paid less than the average wage. I have asked all my media contacts to please report on this slap in the face to the American Worker, and pressure Congress to amend the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
